NEW YORK FAMILY MASSACRED

The afternoon of April 5th turned the usually sleepy city of Dallas into a bloodbath, in what has turned out to be one of the deadliest battles in recent mob history. Trouble began to brew when Winter Tempest Society leader, Don James Burke, gave the order for the family to take down Chicago outfit headed by Don Blackheart. The Chicago family had been authed by Detroit Don Vincent Gigante, and sources within WTS suggest that some saw the danger of aggressive action early on, though warnings were not heeded. Several days of relative calm went by with only minor casualties from Chicago, all the big targets remained underground in what seemed like a game of cat and mouse. Unbeknownst to the New York Don, plans were afoot to muster support from both their parent family in Detroit, and West Coast Mafia’s Andre Battista, Consigliere in charge of operations running out of Los Angeles.

Reports are sketchy as to exactly who started the fighting, but what is known for certain is that the LA outfit flew en masse to Dallas, with some of their heaviest hitters, and began a new chapter in the war started by New York. First to die was Joseph Ardizzone, a Boss with LA, preceded by 21 bodyguards employed by both himself and his target, Leo Pontecorvo, a WTS Don. Leo was fatally wounded only a minute later, and the next hour saw frantic battles between the remaining NY family members, and hitters from LA & Detroit. Notable deaths included Martin Willoughby, NY Consigliere and one time runner of Miami, Giovanni Battista, Consigliere with LA, Blood Is Love, NY Consigliere, and Eddie Stobart, New York Don and right hand to James Burke. Just before 3pm the fighting branched out to both Miami and New York, seeing the deaths of Tommy Udo, Andre Battista, Blackheart, James Burke, Marco Gigante, Trickyy, Baron, William Schmidt, and Leila. Bosses Benny Battista, Mr B, Johnny Armadillo, Svetlana, and Hephaestion all perished in Dallas. Initial Police reports suggest that Marco Gigante took down three NY Dons singlehandedly Leo Pontecorvo, Tommy Udo, and James Burke, before himself succumbing to a wound sustained from Don Burke’s pistol as his body hit the floor. One of the most closely pitched battles of the day came between Eddie Stobart and Vincent Gigante, both reported to be within inches of death, though Vincent narrowly avoided the reaper at the expense of Eddie.

The last notable death came later in the evening when NY Don Alexander flew to Detroit in an apparent effort to take down Vincent Gigante. He was unsuccessful, and fell to shots from multiple members of the Detroit Crime Syndicate. The Bodyguard’s Union is in uproar, with scores of dead protection workers lining the streets of the three main war zones. Union officials are pushing for a huge rise in pay for the remaining bodyguards, though more flock daily to this now lucrative business with all the living mobsters needing to restock their hired muscle.

Mob activity has been heavily dictated by Don Burke for some time now, though the mantle would seem to have passed to Vincent Gigante and his Detroit crime family. Winter Tempest Society insiders had spoken of a steady decline over the previous months, with family numbers and morale dropping sharply. Many have speculated whether Don Burke’s recent mood swings were a contributing factor in the war, describing his interactions as “unpredictable and irritable”. Given the Don’s relatively advanced age, some medical professionals have questioned if he was perhaps suffering from the early stages of dementia, a question that will sadly stay unanswered now. Don Gigante has remained characteristically tight-lipped since the war, though one source quoted him as saying “Chicago was my ally, not sure why people expected otherwise from me”.

With only minor WTS members remaining, the bloodshed is believed to be over for now, though no reaction has yet been noted from Don Burke’s son, Junior Burke, who currently runs Miami’s underground. Equally, Wolf in Atlanta, and Penny Pines in Las Vegas, were both set up by Don Burke, and could decide to retaliate following his death.


UNDERWORLD SHAKEUP FOLLOWS DALLAS BLOODBATH

There have been many changes in the last week following the deaths of many high-ranking members of the mob in the NY/DT/CH/LA war which left more than one mafia family reeling with losses. New York’s ‘Winter Tempest Society’ have now mostly been eliminated, leaving their long reign confined to the history books. West Coast Mafia from Los Angeles also took heavy casualties, with some suggesting they were used as cannon fodder by the Detroit Crime Syndicate to reduce their own losses. LA lost their leader, Andre Battaglia, and several of his high-ranking members. Chicago also lost its ruler, Blackheart, leaving two families with choices to make for their long term goals.

The LA outfit, WCM, have now come to the streets announcing Elf as their new leader, supported by the other two contenders for his job, JuniorLollipops and TupacAmaru. The Chicago reigns appear to have been seized by Thor, though he has made no public declaration of his intentions. Miami was formerly run by Junior Burke, the late Don Burke’s son and heir, though he is reported to have retired from the life of crime. The gap this left has been quickly filled by Aurora and her ‘Clockwork Clique’, directly authorised by Vincent Gigante.

Speaking of Don Gigante, he has provided the biggest talking point of recent days, in claiming his winnings and taking control of New York for himself and his trusted lieutenants. Dean Winchester has remained in Detroit to continue the Detroit Crime Syndicate operations, and the family in New York are now referred to simply as the Gigante Crime Family. Insiders quote Gigante’s heavy hitter Alfieri as stating the Don wanted to remove the power vacuum left behind by the departure of WTS, in a speech given at an invitation-only dinner in Detroit.

Penny Pines remains in Las Vegas, Wolf is continuing to run his motorcycle gang from Atlanta, while Dallas and Denver have reportedly been opened up to Street Bosses from across the nation.


ANNUAL CENTRAL PARK EASTER EGG HUNT BACK ON

New York's very own Mayor made a public announcement Monday morning that the Annual Central Park Easter Egg Hunt would continue as planned this Easter Sunday. While the suggestion of cancelling the Hunt was discussed during March's meeting due to the aggressive growth of the notorious crime family situated in the city, New York has since been cleansed of the infection that had infiltrated its streets.

“We are very pleased with the work our police force has done in eradicating this tumour,” the Mayor stated during his Monday announcement. “And we take complete credit. I believe in a city where little old lady's purses shall remain unsnatched, and little kiddies can spend the day frolicking in the park without worry!” New York's Mayor is currently running for his third term in office, with the vote to go underway in September.

The Easter Egg Hunt is open to all children 2-13 years of age and is held at noon on Easter Sunday. The Hunt is followed by a lunch of hotdogs and soda pop and a vast array of children's races and other activities throughout the afternoon. All supplies for the Hunt are donated by local business and all activities are organized by staff members of the New York Parks and Recreation department.


JAIL DEATHS ON THE INCREASE

A rise in the cases of death whilst in custody have been steadily increasing in recent times, punctuated by the notable death of a New York Capo, Augustus, Sunday evening. The warden of Attica Correctional Facility was unavailable for comment, though a high profile death such as this is surely not going to help the reputation of the jail so soon after its construction. Already reports are flooding in that violence from both inmates and guards is rife in the jail, with several witnesses stating that further deaths have been covered up by medical staff at the facility. Another inmate to die at the same facility on Sunday was Zolaa, an Earner from the recently formed Gigante Crime Family.

Sources speculate whether the deaths are linked to revenge attacks from former Winter Tempest Society allies, though no solid motives or suspects have yet been identified. With cases of sexual assault and jail deaths steadily rising, there is one piece of advice this reporter will give freely: don’t get sent to jail folks.

POLICE BUDGETS INCREASED TO TACKLE MOB VIOLENCE

Following the latest spate of mafia killings, Police budgets across the nation have been increased by undisclosed amounts in a bid to stamp out mob violence from the streets of our fair cities. One Police Department source in Dallas had the following comment:

“We don’t care when they kill each other, makes our jobs easier, but there’s almost always other victims. Innocent bystanders get hurt or killed, and that we can’t accept.”

The first purchase on the lists of many of the departments are better firearms so that Police can match the mob in the frequent shootouts which have been erupting across the nation. Thompson machine guns are no longer a preserve of the mafiosi, and several counties are rolling them out as standard issue to their patrols in the wake of fresh rounds of violence.

The tactic appears to be working, in the short term at least, with the deaths of two major figures from the stable of Vincent Gigante; Johnny Burns (Consigliere) and Donny Lou (Boss). The special units set up to target mob operations, dubbed “G-Men”, have been given carte blanche to use lethal force whenever apprehending mafia suspects, so more deaths are expected in the coming weeks.

The last few weeks have seen a massive peak in death across the nation, specifically in the area of organised crime. While many will say these are criminals and got what was coming to them, I counted many of these people as friends and associates. The information for my articles doesn't just appear from thin air, I converse with many mafiosi on a daily basis. With that in mind, I, and indeed everyone at The Gazette offices, would like to offer our most sincere condolences to the families of all the fallen. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.
