EDITOR'S NOTE

Sorry RP enthusiasts but today is an OOC paper! We're going to be discussing things like bloodlining, Chat GPT, and executions. Although I can manipulate some of these to fit the role play how the hell do you talk about AI designing bars whilst in character? Serious question, help me improve.

IN MEMORIAM

Yesterday we had to say goodbye to In Your Vaste paper boy Escobar who many of you will know as Shermond. He was allegedly executed on the basis of using a clicker to cheat the system as per rumours shared on discord. Shermond maintains that he is innocent, has insomnia and very little life outside of work and this game which in the modern world is plausible. Either way we at the paper will never know the truth of the matter but would like to wish Shermond a fond farewell as he departs on to pastures new. Rest In Peace.

THE BOY WHO LIVED (AND THEN DIDN'T)

There's been a small debate in the street between Raymond Reddington and Trev about whether criminals should advertise that they're criminals or not and whether this improves their chances of survival. The answer seems obvious and not worthy of debate but Raymond persisted in advertising that he was a notorious killer of federal officers whilst Trev argued that if he relaxed or even just shut up for a moment then he would live longer.

No sooner had Trev said this it's understood that Raymond declared he is the king of Chicago and went on a ill advised attack on Max "Smokey" Weber who swiftly put down Raymond. As the old addage goes, pride comes before a fall and maybe Ray should have listened to the young wizard.

In a bid to not let Trev "The Wizard" Potter to have a moment to say I told you so it's understood that Ray left a bounty stating that if he died that the only person it could be is Trev and so an alleged pacifist, attacked Trev as he went for a magical slumber (Wait this is OOC I can say as he was logging out), to claim the bounty.
When Trev awoke it's alleged that same someone bravely ordered Pokey to continue the attack.

OPINION: IS CHAT GPT SCRIPTING CHEATING

I recently drafted a city thread then had chat gpt give me an opinion on it. Thereafter I asked it to create the same building to wonder what an AI thread would look like. I posted neither of these threads though. Weirdly in my role as an editor is to read a lot of threads, there's the usual scripting with at least one, now deceased person, who was recycling a script they've used multiple times (that's all the clues I'm giving you on that one Admin) and there's also at least one bar of a now deceased character whose bar almost entirely matches the script I was given from chat gpt. The question is, is this cheating? I mean from the beginning of the game people have been finding ways to gain an advantage be it using a spell check to reduce mistakes, predictive text to take less time to type, using your phone to click so you can keep clicking whilst taking a pee and even paying people to write threads and sometimes whole scripts. Is using an AI cheating or is it just the next tool to make life a bit easier? I mean how many people actually role play for enjoyment now, is it even possible when you have terrible threads like episiotomys? For me it's not worth the engagement and taking the time to RP takes away from clicking time. Even writing this paper means my character is susceptible from an attack as I idle whilst getting information and I'm not clicking (Admin feel free to give me a stay boost for the work I do for free. Cough cough). Why waste time writing a RP thread when a computer can do it all for you, a steal at the reasonable price of free 99!!! As the world moves further into the future I think the Admin should really stipulate what their position is on this and if they believe this to be cheating, consider what they're going to do to prevent this as its pretty obvious that they do not have the tools nor the resources to clamp down on the rules already being broken.

BLOODLINING: THE RULE THAT CAN ALWAYS BE BROKEN

Although bloodlining has always been against the rules, it happens regularly and the Admin struggle to enforce it so let me give you a handy guide on how to do it and get away with it.

Firstly do not kill the same person over and over, this is the only way the admins can actually catch you. Although they know the friendship groups fairly well especially as the user base is fairly small they will not look into friendship groups continuously killing the same people.

Secondly, plausible deniablity, make a plausible story that your family with 15 plus people with allegiance to it is really worried about young David who has no members. You've 100% got to kill them before this one person is a threat to you. Maybe claim that the person who's shown no hostility was really going to claim that they own the city when they got made and would kill you when in reality with the user base being so small and everyone needing members they're more likely to invite you to join them.

Thirdly, I am really taking the pee! It's really about time that something is done a put bloodlining and the historical feuds that's killing the game off. Many of the users who have left, returned, and will leave again, will leave because they're continuously wiped out again no matter how hard they work and the problem is ranking is really hard in this game. It's beyond time that the Admin move away from their beyond a reasonable doubt stance on bloodlining and move towards an "on the balance of probability" approach they use for other things. This is a game and enforcement of the rules should be a civil burden not criminal else they're redundant. People will moan but they're gonna moan anyway at least they may reconsider whether holding that decade long grudge is worth it or not. Plus there's so few players and so many cities do we need to really be warring like that? One person doesn't need to own everything, this isn't monopoly.

STOCKHOLM SYNDROME

This is a small article in memory of Freaknik who sadly committed suicide after declaring years of systemic abuse to his family from the family of Severe. Although Freaknik managed to escape he was too institutionalised and couldn't live in a world without this abuse. We can only hope that his soul is at peace now he's escaped his inner torment. Rest In Peace

EDITOR'S CLOSING THOUGHTS

Whilst this is OOC, and this won't be a regular bit, I thought I'd highlight that the map is huge and the user base is low, there's enough space for everyone. We're alpha testing a game and I believe we have now thoroughly tested the shooting mechanics of a street boss, it's wonky but it works. Can we now have a phase of ranking and maybe do a little shooty shooty bang bang at made? Let's test the game quickly so they can reset it and we can play for real and do all the bloodlining, I mean killing you want then. Would be a shame if they finish the testing and we've barely tested anything because we couldn't stop being children for 5 minutes? Aren't you tired of playing a glitchy game? Do you think this is how they test at Blizzard and Bethesda?
