## Welcome to Mafia.org The Mafia role playing game set in 1930's America. Ever wondered what it feels like to be a Wise Guy or reach the dizzy heights of Godfather? Well, if you like role playing and want to be either a Family Boss or just part of a Family then step inside. This is not like other online mafia games where its all about speed: here you need cunning, planning and time to make that difference and choice. In order to succeed you need to earn the respect of others, interact in the forums and get to know how other people work. You're not going to be a Don in one day. Like everyone you will start at the bottom, but with the hard work and patience of a true leader you can make it to the top if you want. Sell guns, traffic drugs, own race horses, write the news, get rich gambling... You are the person behind the screen, you choose your style of role play and your claim to fame. You will most probably die, either testing things out, getting on someone's bad side or making mistakes, but remember to talk and interact and you will have a good time. As you start you get 48 hours free from death to let you have a look around in safety unless you get a gun and try shooting people, or try mugging others. Use that time wisely to find out everything you can possibly do. Learn to walk before you fly. If you find yourself stuck and not sure what the hell is going on, you can approach a fellow mafioso in a cautious fashion and they may be happy to help, or may not. If you don't act respectful, you may get shot. You never know. You can also check the [article:hoodlums_handbook|Hoodlum's Handbook] for a bit more in-depth help, and check the [article:SiteFunctionKey|Mafia.org Site Key]. New to role playing? Then check out [article:RP_Guide|Role Playing Guide] for some basic information before you get started. **Q: How can I change my color scheme?** A: Go to Info > Edit Profile and pick a different scheme. While you're there, set your quote, upload your image and check out the bribe/evade police etc. settings. Good Luck young Mafioso and enjoy the game.
