== The Hoodlum's Handbook == Stumbling down a dark alley you bump into a man that man turns around and stares into your eyes. You back up a little and start to apologize, but before you can even open your lips the man slowly starts to speak. "You should really watch where your going young one. These streets are mean streets. They aren't the kind you want to just wander around on. Trust me I've been here for far too long." The man looks you up and down slowly examining you as if you where a cow being brought to the slaughter house. After a brief minute the man slowly starts to speak again. "You seem like a kid who could better himself from the ways of this world. It's not going to be easy or anything though. You will have to make some strong connections and make a good name for yourself. I'll tell you what though. I'll give you some quick pointers on what you should do." The man sits down on a crate and points over to another one for you to sit down. A little hesitant you slowly sit down and just stare at the man. "First thing first you'll need to make some money for yourself. Purses provide a bit of income, but it's not a good living. Those street corners will give even more than a purse, but are a bit harder to rob. Now cars those will give you a decent amount, but you have to watch out for the locks on them. After so long of this you will become what is known as a hoodlum. Unless your quick to find a made family that is. Either way though you will need to work your way through the crimes to get yourself off to a decent start. Felonies are a decent source of income. They also beat out those petty crimes we just talked about, but they will get you thrown in jail faster." The man stops for a moment and just stares at you. "Yeah jail around here can be a bit boring, but don't go running in the jail house too much a man by the name of Bubba likes to hide around corners and when he gets you it's not a pretty site. In jail you can get a shank to defend yourself from other inmates. You may also want to try your hand at some gambling with blackjack or a dice game Bubba runs. Be careful though you don't want to lose that hard earned money of yours. Outside of jail you may also try to jail break someone to set them free early. Doing so on certain securities aren't too good for you and the cops notice you a lot of the times." The man pulls a flask from his coat pocket and takes a drink from it. You notice he has a gun on him and slowly start to panic a bit. Noticing this the man looks down at his gun and smiles looking back up at you. "Don't be scared of that thing. It might become your friend one day. A gun is a good weapon to deal with muggers or to even take out an attacker on your life or the life of a family member. You got to be careful with it though as sometimes they are faulty and can backfire on you. Not everyone is a good shooter either and don't ask me how you can improve on it as it's just as much of a mystery to me too. I guess some are just born with it. Oh yeah and mugging is basically stealing another person's money. A lot of people don't like it so be prepared or ask before you do it." Staring at you the man looks around and then rubs his head. "Oh right. Gambling in this life can bring you a great deal of success. From the horse bets to the slots or the black jack, but with that success you can also go broke. Not everything in this world is going to be easy. Sometimes you'll win sometimes you'll lose. That's where some good connections come into play. Oh and if you become rich enough you can even buy some of those horses or even one of those slots." The man slowly stands and keeps staring you down. "Well kid that's really about it. Everything else you need to know you'll learn one way. Don't neglect the streets around here and if you open a business take good care of it. So run off and get to earning some money. Oh and the gods have granted you 48 hour immunity just don't go mugging or shooting anything." Turning his back to you the man slowly walks away. "Welcome to the mafia kid. Follow the rules or I'll be seeing you in a body bag."
